Williamsburg, Va. - The 49ers completed their fall campaign with a 15th-place finish in the 24-team VCU Fall Preview. With the finish, the 49ers take a 53-29-1 record into the spring season.

Sophomore Mike Shamp led the 49ers with a two-round total of 149 (77-72) to place tied for 31st. Jason Goble (79-73 -- 152) and Sam McFall (79-74 -- 153) both had strong closing rounds while seniors Jeff Curl (74-80 -- 154) and Mike Hyland (77-78 -- 155) fell off the pace.

The 49ers competed in six tournaments in the fall and enjoyed a first, third and two fourth-place finishes. They return to action in the spring, Feb. 12-13 at the Beau Rivage Classic hosted by Southern Miss.
