Newport, R.I. - Senior Jeff Curl shot a one-over par 72 in the final round of the Adams Cup of Newport to win the individual title with a three-round total of one-over par 212. His finish led the 49ers to a fourth-place finish in the 13-team event. It is the 49ers fourth top four finish in as many events, this fall.

Playing the par 71 Pt. Judith CC, Curl carded a 72 to claim his first individual title of the year. His first two rounds of 69 and 71, played on the par 70 Newport Country Club course, had left Curl at even par entering the final round.

Junior Andy Robertson turned in his best performance of the fall, finishing with a three-round total of 219 (T9th, +8). Senior Mike Hyland and sophomore Mike Shamp each finished with a three-round 226 while freshman Clint Deibert posted a 237.

The 49ers own a first, a third and two fourth-place finishes in their four events this fall.
