49ers Finish 12th at PING/Golfweek Preview

Toledo, Ohio - Senior Stefan Wiedergruen, the individual defending champion, and junior Ryan Wilson both shot +3, 74 to lead the 19th-ranked 49ers in the final round of the PING/Golfweek Preview an Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio.
The tournament, played at the site of the upcoming 2009 NCAA Championships, regularly invites a top 25 field in an effort to "preview" the NCAA Finals. Oklahoma State defeated the 15-team field with a three-day total of -9, 843. The 49ers, who won the event last season, placed 12th with a three-day total of +42, 894.
Wiedergruen led Charlotte with a three-round total of +4, 217 to tie for 17th-place overall. Senior David Rawluk joined Wiedergruen as the only 49ers who had each of their three round scores count towards the team score. Rawluk, who shot a +6, 77 in the third round finished at +13. Sophomore Will Golden carded a +15 over the three rounds while Corey Nagy and Ryan Wilson each put up +19 scores.
