Florence, S.C. - The Charlotte 49ers shot a final round 297 to move into fourth-place at the Carolina First Intercollegiate. In three events this fall the 49ers have placed first, third and fourth.

Sophomore Mike Shamp and senior Jeff Curl each shot final round 73's to lead the 49ers to a final round 297. Coastal Carolina, which placed fifth, was the only team that had a better final round, closing at 296.

VCU held on to its first day lead to capture the title by shooting a three-day 873 (+9) followed by Georgia Southern (888) and UNC Wilmington (889). The 49ers shot a three-round total of 890.

Shamp led the 49ers with a three-day 222 (T12th, +6) while Curl and senior Mike Hyland finished tied for 16th at 223 (+7). Andy Robertson shot a 227 (+11) and freshman Clint Deibert came in at 228 (+12).

With the 4th place finish at the 13-team event, the 49ers record improves to 29-5 through three events this fall.
