Lincoln, Neb. - Senior Jeff Curl shot a five-over par 218 to place tied for third and pace the 49ers to a third-place finish at Nebraska's 12-team Fairway Club Invitational. The 49ers, who won the season-opening G. Gunby Jordan Invitational, now own a 20-2 record through two events, this fall.

Curl shot a final round one-under par 70 to move into third-place while the 49ers final round 292 was second only to Sam Houston State (882), which rallied with a final day 281 to overtake the field and win the event by seven strokes. Missouri (889) placed second, followed by Charlotte (892) and host Nebraska (900).

Senior Mike Hyland finished 13th at 10-over par 223, followed by sophomore Mike Shamp (225), freshman Clint Deibert (226) and freshman Sam McFall (233).
