Spartanburg, S.C. - The 49ers men's golf team tied for 10th of 11 teams at the Wofford Invitational in their last regular-season outing prior to the Conference USA Championships.

Sophomore Mike Shamp, who has led the 49ers in three of four events this spring, shot a team-best 217 to tie for 11th, individually, at one-over par. The 217 that Shamp carded is his career-best score for 54-holes. Shamp opened play with a two-under 70, his best round this year, on his way to that 217.

Red-shirt sophomore Andy Robertson, matched his career-best round with a one-under 71 in the second round, but he and Shamp were the only two 49ers able to best par at the event.

Virginia Tech won the tournament while Maryland's Corey Brigham took medalist honors with a seven-under par 209.

The 49ers will compete at the Conference USA Championships, Apr. 23-25 in Navarre, Fla.
