A finalist for the 2008 Jan Strickland Assistant Coach of the Year Award, Charlotte 49ers assistant coach Adam Pry is now in his second season with the 49ers golf program. He helped the 49ers on their historic run to becoming the nation's consensus #1 ranked team in the fall of 2007 and to their eighth-place finish at the 2008 NCAA Championship. Prior to joining the 49ers program, Pry was a graduate assistant at Miami University of Ohio (2005-2007) and an assistant coach at Oglethorpe Univerity (2004-05).
A 2004 graduate of Ohio Wesleyan with a degree in Physical Education, Pry earned his master's degree from Miami of Ohio in Sports Studies, with a concentration in Sports Behavior and Performance in 2007. Pry was a two-time team captain at Ohio Wesleyan, where he competed at four NCAA National Championships. They placed third in his junior year and seventh in his senior year. He led Ohio Wesleyan to the conference title, three straight years.
Pry has worked at many golf clinics, including the Duke Golf School for Boys for seven straight years. He also was an instructor at the Central Ohio Golf Academy in 2005 and 2007, the Purdue Coaches Golf School in 2005 and the OHSGCA Golf Clinic at Ohio State University in 2005.
Pry worked with both the men's and women's teams at Oglethorpe University, where he was responsible for planning practice, tournament preparation and on-course coaching.
