Halton Arena - Charlotte 49ers men's basketball rising senior Lamont Mack (Chicago, Ill.) underwent arthroscopic knee surgery Friday to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee.
According to head athletic trainer Carlton Anderson, the surgery, performed by Dr. James Fleischli, was successful.
"The surgery went well," Anderson said. "They were able to remove the torn piece and clean out some debris, as well. Lamont is in good spirits. He will undergo a 12-week rehab regimen and we fully expect him to be ready to go for the fall workouts."
Mack, a 6-7 forward, was the team's second-leading scorer and rebounder. He averaged 12.8 points and 5.1 rebounds during the season -- his first year with the 49ers. He shot .392 from the floor and .364 from three-point range. He was fourth on the team with 36 steals and shot .724 from the foul line. He scored in double figures in 10 of the 49ers last 11 games.
