Charlotte, N.C. - Former Charlotte 49ers star men's basketball player Cam Stephens was named to the 2003 CBA all-Rookie Team. Stephens, who plays for the Great Lakes Storm, averaged 8.0 points and 4.7 rebounds in 36 games played.

He was joined on the all-Rookie Team by Rookie of the Year Immanuel McElroy (Grand Rapids Hoops; Univ. of Cincinnati), Corsley Edwards (Sioux Falls Skyforce; Central Connecticut State); Byron Mouton (Idaho Stampede; Univ. of Maryland) and Cory Bradford (Dakota Wizards; Univ. of Illinois).

A third-round CBA draft choice, Stephens averaged 13.2 points and 9.3 rebounds in his senior season with the 49ers, helping the 49ers earn an at-large NCAA Tournament berth. The 49ers leading rebounder was named second-team all-Conference USA after posting 13 double-doubles and averaging 15.3 points and 10.4 rebounds in league play.

In his two-year career with the 49ers, Stephens surpassed 500 career rebounds.
