at #11/#12 Marquette (Feb. 20; 9:00 -- WFNZ 610 AM; ESPN2): The 49ers travel to Milwaukee for the series rematch. Marquette won by three, 67-64, at Halton Arena, Jan. 18 ... the 49ers are 11-9 all-time vs. Marquette, but just 2-6 in Milwaukee ... the 49ers are 8-1 at home vs. Marquette, with the one loss coming this season ... Charlotte is 0-3 vs. ranked opponents, this year; 1-3 vs. Top 25 RPI (W, 74-64 vs. #22 Cincinnati, Saturday) ... the first meeting of the series came in the 1977 Final Four, with Marquette winning, 51-49 in Atlanta, Ga. ... the 49ers own a 9-5 record in C-USA regular-season play ... head coach Bobby Lutz is 5-4 vs. Marquette; 1-3 at Marquette ... the 49ers have won their last two games but have lost their four road games ... Charlotte is 1-8 in road games, this year.

Last Time Out: Senior Curtis Nash played his best game of the year, scoring 20 points on 8-13 FG; 2-3 3FG, and adding 4 assists with 0 turnovers to lead the 49ers to a 74-64 home victory over Cincinnati. Demon Brown (18 pts) hit six threes to surpass Jobey Thomas and set new C-USA and 49ers records for three-pointers in a season (112). Freshman Vincent Grier hit for 10 points for the second straight game and Eddie Basden added 10 points with nine rebounds and three steals. Charlotte outrebounded the Bearcats by 16, 50-34.

Brown Leads Nation in Three-Pointers: Junior guard Demon Brown leads the nation in three-pointers made per game (112; 5.09/gm) and is shooting a career-best .412 from long-range. He has broken the 49ers and C-USA's single-season record for threes, set last season (110, Jobey Thomas). He broke the 49ers single-game school record (shared by Brown; Diego Guevara and Henry Williams) with nine threes at UAB on his way to a career-high 32 points. Of note, the NCAA record for threes in a season is 158 (5.64/gm) by Darrin Fitzgerald of Butler in 1987. Fitzgerald is the only player in NCAA Div. I history to average at least 5.0 threes per game over an entire season.

A Niner Atop C-USA in Threes, Again: Demon Brown leads the nation and C-USA in three-pointers made per game (112; 5.09/gm). A 49er has led C-USA in three-pointers made in each of the last four years: Diego Guevara, 1999; Jobey Thomas, 2000, 2001, 2002.

What Can Brown Do For You?: Junior guard Demon Brown has scored 20 or more points in six of the last 10 games and 10 games overall. He's 3rd in C-USA with an 18.1 scoring average that improves to a league-leading 20.0 points in C-USA play. He has scored 15 or more points in 17 games and has scored in double figures in all but two games (0-2). Brown is 2nd on the team with 31 steals. He became the 18th player in 49ers history to score 1000 career points when he scored 22 at Cincinnati. With 241 career threes, Brown is #3 all-time for the 49ers, behind Thomas and Williams.

Those Fantastic Freshmen: Freshman Curtis Withers posted his third double-double of the year vs. Houston with 13 points and a career-high 13 rebounds. He's second on the team with 9.7 points and 6.3 rebounds and improves to 10.4 and 6.8 in C-USA play. He adds 28 steals and has had 11 games in double figures.

Explosive swing Vincent Grier is shooting .537 from the floor with 10 dunks. scored 10 points with six rebounds in back-to-back games (both wins) and has enjoyed four double-figure games, this year. With 28 steals, he is a defensive threat and his athleticism can make for a highlight-film type air show.

Red-shirt freshman point Mitchell Baldwin, leads C-USA in A-TO ratio in league games (3.60: 36 asts; 10 to). The speedster is shooting .458 with a team-high 7 charges taken and 24 steals. Over the last 10 games, Baldwin has a 2.87 A-TO ratio with 46 assists and only 16 turnovers.
