49ers Announce Men's Basketball Home/Away Opponents
7/3/2008 - The Charlotte 49ers men's basketball team has released its home and away opponents for the upcoming 2008-09 season. The schedule is highlighted by seven contests with 2008 NCAA Tournament teams and an appearance in ESPN's Anaheim Classic, which includes three NCAA and two NIT teams among its eight-team field. In all, the 49ers slate will include at least 12 games against 2008 post-season teams - six of which will be played at Halton Arena. Read Full Release
Shamari Spears To Join 49ers Basketball Program
4/23/2008 - Charlotte 49ers head men's basketball coach Bobby Lutz has anounced that 6-6 forward Shamari Spears (Salisbury, N.C.) will transfer into the 49ers program from Boston College. Spears, who was the third-leading scorer for the Eagles as a sophomore last year, averaged 9.6 points and 6.1 rebounds. Read Full Release
Mack Recovering From Successful Surgery
4/21/2008 - Charlotte 49ers men's basketball rising senior Lamont Mack (Chicago, Ill.) underwent arthroscopic knee surgery Friday to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee. According to head athletic trainer Carlton Anderson, the surgery, performed by Dr. James Fleischli, was successful. Read Full Release
