CHICAGO - The Charlotte 49ers junior second baseman George Sandel was named second team All-Conference USA today. This marked the second straight season that Sandel has been named second team All-Conference USA.

Sandel finished as the team leader in hitting with a .374 batting average. He also lead the 49ers in RBI with 39, hits with 79, slugging percentage at .512 and on base percentage at .444.

The Palm Beach Gardens, Florida native also consistently provided solid defense for the 49ers. He was a major part of Charlotte's school record-tying five double plays in the second game of the Virginia doubleheader, March 9.
