CHARLOTTE, NC - The Charlotte 49ers baseball team host #17 Southern Miss in their final home series of the season at Tom and Lib Phillips Field this weekend, May 14-16. The series begins Friday, May 14 at 6 pm. The second game of the series has been moved to 6 pm on Saturday to accommodate the university's graduation ceremony. The series concludes Sunday at 1 pm.

The 49ers enter the series battling for a berth in the eight-team Conference USA Tournament, May 26-30. The 49ers are currently a game and half out of eighth place. The 49ers conclude the regular season at TCU next week, May 20-22.

The Southern Miss series marks the final home games for seniors Justin Brown, Thomas Bowker, Randall Poplin, Jamie Rusco, Brian Scafe and Zachary Treadway. These six seniors will be honored in a pregame ceremony before Saturday's game.

Rusco continues to pace the 49ers with a team-best .371 average and a career-high 14 home runs. Rusco's 14 home runs tie him for the fifth highest single-season total in school history.

Southern Miss leads the all-time series, 24-18. However, Treadway enjoyed one of his best performance as a 49er in Charlotte's 8-5 win at Southern Miss, last season. He recorded a complete game victory that night as the 49ers handed the Golden Eagles their only series opening loss of the season.

Admission to each game is $5 for adults. All youth 17-and-under and Charlotte 49ers students with valid student IDs are free.
