Charlotte Baseball Remains Tops in ERA in NCAA

Mills Remains Second in Nation in ERA, Third in Strikeouts

Indianapolis, Ind. - The Charlotte 49ers baseball squad remains tops in the nation in earned run average, accoring to the latest NCAA stats, released this week.

In the new statistical release, senior Adam Mills is second in the nation with an ERA of 0.97, third in the country in strikeouts with 125 and tied for fourth in the NCAA with 11 wins.

Charlotte is listed third in the country with a winning percentage of .809 and an overall record of 38-9, which is the best in school history.

Also in the top five is senior Cory Lane, who is fifth in the nation in triples per game.

Charlotte hosts Saint Bonaventure this weekend in Atlantic 10 play. Friday night, the Niners will honor fallen teammate Erik Walker with the conferment of his degree in a ceremony to take place before Friday night's game. The game begins at 6 p.m. Saturday's 2 p.m. game will be Senior Day to honor the six senior players and senior manager prior to the 2 p.m. contest.
