Mills allowed just one run in 10 innings last week, striking out 16 batters.
He threw three innings of no-hit ball on Wednesday night vs. #1 North Carolina before exiting in a pre-determined move to prep him for a weekend start. He left that game with the 49ers ahead, 3-0, after retiring everyone in the lineup in order. He struck out four in the contest.
On Sunday, Mills allowed just one run on a bases loaded double play, while striking out a career-high 12 batters in a 7-inning complete game 11-1 win over Saint Joseph's. The runner who scored on the double play was the only runner to advance to third base that afternoon.
Mills struck out at least one batter in every inning, striking out five in a row bridging the second and third innings (where he struck out the side). He struck out seven of the Hawks' nine starters on the afternoon at least once.
