Ambrose was chosen as the Charlotte49ers.com and Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Week after helping the 49ers to a 3-1 record, including a series sweep of Indiana on the weekend.
Six of Ambrose's nine hits last week went for extra bases. He hit for the cycle in Charlotte's 11-10 (14 inning) win over Indiana on Sunday, becoming the first Charlotte player to accomplish that feat since 1992. He had four hits in that game, as well as in Friday's 11-3 win over the Hoosiers.
On Friday night, Mike doubled back-to-back-to-back in the 1st, 3rd and 5th innings to tie the school record with 3 doubles in a game. On Sunday, he drove in two runs with his triple, and his solo home run in the eighth inning tied the contest at 10-10.
In four games, Ambrose batted .450 and slugged .900, with 4 doubles, one triple, one home run, and 5 RBI.
