Charlotte, N.C. - The weather forecast and field conditions are forcing changes to the baseball schedule this weekend. Sunday's scheduled doubleheader agaist Radford has been altered to a single nine-inning contest at 2 p.m. The game still takes place at Ferebee Field on the campus of Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, N.C.
Weather postponed the home opener this week two days to Thursday and now this weather-related change forces the Niners and Highlanders to drop a game for their season. There is no current plan to make up the dropped game.
Charlotte is 4-1 on the young season. The Niners are currently on a stretch of 23 consecutive scoreless innings pitched heading into this Sunday contest. Radford is 1-2 so far this season, winning its last result against Savannah State last Sunday.
Adam Mills is scheduled to start for the Niners, while Radford will likely throw Eric Evans.
