MEMPHIS, TN - The Charlotte 49ers dropped their season finale on the road to Memphis, 7-5.
Charlotte finished the season 19-35 overall and 9-21 in Conference USA. While Memphis finished the season 20-31 overall and 10-20 in Conference USA.
Charlotte took a 2-0 lead with two runs on three hits in the first inning. Adam Willard scored the game's first run on Brad Halvorson's sacrifice fly to center field. Then, George Sandel scored the other run on Brad Erwin's double to center field.
Memphis tied the game at 2-2 with two runs in the third inning. Both of Memphis' runs scored on a Charlotte fielding error.
The 49ers regained the lead in the fifth inning on Adam Willard's two-run home run over the right field wall.
Memphis tied the game in the bottom of the fifth inning with two runs on two hits. Paul Cookman and Paul Reuer scored the inning for Memphis.
Charlotte regained the lead when Nick Blackmon scored on George Sandel's single to right field in the seventh inning.
Memphis took their first lead of the game, 7-5, with three runs on four hits in the seventh inning.
