Final Stats

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte 49ers lost to #11 Houston, 9-1, in the first game of their three-game Conference USA series.

Charlotte's Brian Bowman lead the 49ers with two hits and scored the team's only run.

Houston took the lead for good 2-0 with two runs on three hits in the second inning. Brett Cooley scored the game's first run on a Jesse Crain double to center field. Then, Crain scored the inning's other run on Sam Mitchell's single to center field.

Houston added a run in the fourth inning when Thanos Papavasiliou scored on a Hyung Cho double to left field.

Houston added two more runs in the sixth inning making the score, 5-0.

Charlotte scored their only run when Brian Bowman scored on Adam Willard's bunt base hit to third base in the sixth inning.

Houston added four runs on four hits in the ninth inning to round out the game's scoring.

The two teams continue their three-game Conference USA series, Saturday, May 11 at 2 pm.
