TAMPA, FL - The Charlotte 49ers baseball team behind 12 hits and five USF errors defeated USF, 9-7, for the program's 700th all-time victory.
Thomas Bowker paced the 49ers with four hits including two doubles. Michael Roane had two hits, three RBI and scored three runs. Randall Poplin also had two hits for Charlotte.
Charlotte scored the game's first run when Bowker, who reached base on a double to right center field, scored on Brian Scafe's infield groundout in the first inning.
USF took the lead when Mike Macaluso and Bryan Hierlmeier scored in the bottom of the first inning.
The 49ers regained the lead with two runs on two hits in the third inning. Roane scored the first run of the inning on Bowker's double to left field. Then, Adam Willard scored the other run on Jamie Rusco's infield single.
The Bulls tied the score when Myron Leslie scored on Matt McHargue's infield groundout in the bottom of the third inning.
In the top of the fourth inning, Charlotte regained the lead for good when Poplin and Chris Lane scored on Roane's single to left field.
Brian Scafe's connected on his ninth home run of the season with a solo blast over the left field wall in the fifth inning.
USF plated a run in the bottom of the fifth inning when Leslie scored on Devin Ivany's double off the left field wall.
Then, Charlotte exploded for three runs on four hits in the sixth inning. Adam Floyd, who reached base on a double down the left field line, scored on Roane's single to left field. Then, Roane scored on Jamie Rusco's sacrifice fly to right field. Willard scored the inning's final run on a USF fielding error.

Zachary Treadway collected his third win of the season after pitching seven and two-thirds inning. Erik Walker collected his fourth save of the season by pitching the final inning and a third of scoreless baseball.
With the win, Charlotte improved to 19-23 overall and 8-13 in Conference USA. While, USF fell to 27-17 overall and 9-11 in Conference USA.
The 49ers host Davidson in their final non-conference home game of the season, Tuesday, May 4 at 6 pm.
