CHARLOTTE, NC - UAB defeated Charlotte, 16-1, in the second game of their three-game Conference USA series.
Adam Willard, Jamie Rusco and Brian Scafe each had two hits for Charlotte.
Josh Miljavic paced the UAB with three hits and five RBI. Nathan McCorkle, Seth Rollin and Zac Ward each had two hits for the Blazers.
UAB plated the game's first run when McCorkle, who reached base on a double to left center field, scored on Rollin's double down the left field line in the second inning.
The Blazers tacked on two more runs in the fifth on Miljavac's two-out two-run single to center field.
Charlotte scored their only run of the game in the fifth inning when Chris Lane scored on Willard's double to left center field.
Then, UAB blew the game open with seven runs on six hits in the sixth inning. The big hits of the inning were three-run home runs by Cole Helms and Ward.
The Blazers tacked on two more runs on Miljavac's two-run single to right field in the seventh inning.
UAB closed out their scoring with four runs on three hits in the eighth inning.
With the loss, Charlotte falls to 16-20 on the season and 6-11 in Conference USA. While, UAB improves to 19-19 on the season and 6-10 in Conference USA.
The two teams conclude their three-game Conference USA series, Sunday, April 25 at 1 pm.
