KANNAPOLIS, NC - The Charlotte 49ers baseball team lost to #19 North Carolina, 8-0, at Kannapolis' Fieldcrest-Cannon Stadium.

The Tar Heels got on the scoreboard first with three runs on two hits in the third inning. Chase Younts scored the game's first run on Russ Adams' sacrifice fly to right field. Then, Adam Greenberg scored the next run on Sean Farrell's double down the right field line. Farrell scored the inning's final run Chris Maples' single to center field.

North Carolina added a run in the fourth inning when Younts scored his second run of the game on Russ Adams' single to right field.

North Carolina increased their lead to 5-0 when Farrell scored his second run of the game on Greg Mangum's double to right field in the fifth inning.

North Carolina added two runs in the sixth inning and a run in the eighth inning making the final score, 8-0.

The 49ers return to action this weekend with a three-game Conference USA series at South Florida, April 26-28.
