CHARLOTTE, NC - The Charlotte 49ers baseball team dropped a non-conference game to Furman, 4-1, at Tom and Lib Phillips Field.

Jamie Rusco and Chris Lane each collected two hits for Charlotte.

Furman plated the game's first two runs on McLain's two-run blast over the center field wall in the fourth inning.

Charlotte scored their only run when Michael Roane connected on a solo home run over the left center field wall in the seventh inning.

Then, the Paladins increased their lead to 4-1 with two runs on three hits in the eighth inning. Matthew Betsill and McLain scored on Matt Madison's triple to right field.

The 49ers host Conference USA foe UAB in a three-game series this weekend, April 23-25. The first game of the series is Friday, April 23 at 6 pm.
