LOUISVILLE, KY - The Charlotte 49ers baseball team falls to Louisville, 13-4, in their Conference USA series finale.
Louisville to the lead for good, 5-0, with five runs on four hits in the second inning.
The 49ers cut the Louisville lead to 5-2 when George Sandel connected on a two-out two-run home run over the right field.
Louisville increased their lead to 8-2 with three runs on three hits in the third inning.
Louisville added another run in the fourth inning on Morgan Bojorquez's solo home run over the center field wall.
Louisville added four more runs on two home runs in the fifth inning making the score, 13-2.
Sandel scored Charlotte's third run in the sixth inning on Alex Derhak's sacrifice fly to center field.
The 49ers scored their fourth run in the seventh inning when Marko Little scored on Joey Bradshaw's two-out double to right center field.
Charlotte returns to action when they host #5 Wake Forest, Tuesday, April 23 at Kannapolis' Fieldcrest-Cannon Stadium at 6:35 pm. Then, the 49ers host #21 North Carolina, Wednesday, April 24 at Kannapolis' Fieldcrest-Cannon Stadium at 6:35 pm.
