LOUISVILLE, KY - The Louisville Cardinals baseball team came from behind with two runs in the ninth inning to defeat Charlotte, 3-2.

Kris Rochelle paced the 49ers' 13-hit attack with three hits. Adam Willard, Spencer Steedley and Randall Poplin each had two hits for Charlotte.

The Niners scratched across the game's first run when Brian Scafe, who reached base on a double down the left field line, scored on Chris Lane's single to left field in the fourth inning.

The 49ers tacked on another run in fifth inning when Willard scored on Steedley's single to center field in the fifth inning.

Louisville cut the Charlotte lead in half on Isaiah Howes' two-out home run over the left field wall in the seventh inning.

Then, Louisville scored twice in the ninth inning to rally for the win. Pinch hitter Logan Johnson leadoff the inning with a game-tying home run over the right field wall. Then, Chris Cates won the game with a single to left field scoring Howes with the game-winning run.

Charlotte pitcher Justin Brown enjoyed his best outing of the season. He got a no-decision after leaving the game with a lead after pitching a season-high seven and two-thirds innings limiting Louisville to four hits and one run with seven strikeouts.
