Rock Hill, S.C. - The Charlotte 49ers picked up a doubleheader sweep of Le Moyne College 6-2 and 5-1, both in seven innings, Saturday afternoon at the Winthrop Ballpark in Rock Hill, S.C. The Niners improve to 13-3 on the season and a perfect 10-0 at home in three different ballparks in 2007. Le Moyne drops to 2-9, losing all three so far to Charlotte. The Niners have won their last six games, and eight of their last nine contests.
Catcher Kris Rochelle has been the star of the series, going 3-4 in the doubleheader with a pair of doubles in game one, an RBI and two runs scored on Saturday. He is five-for-seven in the series, with an RBI and three runs scored. Rochelle saw his hit streak end at 13 games, as he was walked twice and struck out in game two. His season average is at .519 (27-for-52) and he leads the team with nine doubles, 13 walks and 18 RBI. He is slugging at .885 for the season, with an on-base percentage of .609 in 2007.
Charlotte jumped on Le Moyne early in both games and never lost the lead after the first inning.
GAME ONE
The Niners scored two quick runs in the first on starter Eric Beaulac. Leadoff batters Cory Lane and Aaron Bray drew walks Rochelle pounded his first double of the day to right to score Lane. Bray came home on a Brad McElroy ground ball to put Charlotte up 2-0.
Charlotte poured on three more runs in the third on five singles. McElroy knocked home a run in the fourth on a sacrifice fly after Cory Lane led off with a single and advances to third on Rochelle's second single and third hit of the game.

Spencer Steedley went the distance for Charlotte, allowing those two runs on six hits for his second complete game of the season. He struck out five and walked one for his third win of the season (3-0).
Beaulac took the loss for Le Moyne (0-1). He allowed all six Charlotte runs on nine hits and two walks in four innings of work, striking out three. Freshman Daniel Tunison came on and shut down Charlotte in two innings of work on two walks and two strikeouts without allowing a hit.
GAME TWO
The Niners jumped out early again, scoring three runs in the first inning on two hits and two walks before an out was recorded, capped off by a two-RBI bases-loaded double by McElroy. Charlotte scored another run in the third and one in the fourth.
All five runs came off of starter Michel Gedman (0-1). He lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing seven hits and two walks, with one strikeout.
Dolphins shortstop Andy Parrino led off the top of the fourth with a solo home run down the left field line, but Le Moyne had only one runner touch second base the rest of the game.
Senior Matt Foard got his first win of the season in only his second appearance after a long illness (1-0). He lasted four innings, allowing just the one homer and three other hits, with no strikeouts or walks.
Sam Pierce recorded Charlotte's first save of the season. He lasted three innings of scoreless relief, allowing two hits and two walks, while striking out four.
Both teams return to Rock Hill to finish the four-game series on the first day of Daylight Savings Time Sunday at noon.
