Kannapolis, N.C. - The Charlotte 49ers concluded a season sweep of Campbell and remained perfect at home in four games, with a 13-2 final at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium in Kannapolis Saturday afternoon. Senior second baseman Cory Lane had three hits, including a three-run homer to right field, knocking in five runs on the day. Charlotte improves to 7-2 on the season, dropping Campbell to 1-7.
The Niners finish 4-0 against Campbell this season, outscoring the Fighting Camels 37-8.
Lane is leading the Niners in batting average (.455), RBI (12), hits (20), triples (2) and slugging percentage (.795).
Zach Rosenbaum got his first win of the season (1-0) an erased a shaky start to his season by pitching five scoreless innings, scattering four hits and two walks, while striking out three.
The Niners jumped on the board early. Charlotte plated eight runs in the second inning, all charged to starter Chris England, who took the loss (0-2). Only three of the runs were earned due to error, and the Niners scored three runs with two outs on a Chris Taylor double with the bases loaded.
Charlotte only managed eight hits in the game, making the Fighting Camels pay for free passes totaling two walks and five hit batters.
Charlotte came back out in the third and scored three more runs on the Lane homer. Lane has eleven extra-base hits so far this season.
Catcher Kris Rochelle hit his third career triple in the third inning. The senior had two hits, one RBI and scored twice for Charlotte.
Charlotte scored again in the sixth on a sacrifice fly by center fielder Chris Lane. He knocked home shortstop Shayne Moody, who hit his first extra-base hit of the season, a double to right center to lead off the inning.

Campbell scored its runs in the sixth and eighth innings. Second baseman John Watlington scored on an error in the sixth after walking. Left fielder Brandon Scott hit a two-out single in the eighth and was driven home on a double by designated hitter Ryan Hamme.
Campbell used six pitchers in the contest, while the Niners threw four hurlers to the hill on the day.
Charlotte will head to Winston-Salem Tuesday afternoon, to take on Wake Forest at 2:30 p.m. for its final game of February. The Niners return "home" to Kannapolis next weekend to host a three-game series against James Madison. Friday's game is a 2 p.m. start, while Saturday and Sunday will be noon starts.
