Round Rock, TX - Charlotte jumped out to an early lead but Kansas rallied to defeat the 49ers 5-2 in the Round Rock Express College Baseball Tournament.

Charlotte scored first with two runs in the top of the fourth inning. Brad Erwin started the inning with a double off the rightfield wall. He then scored the game's first run when Brad Lamm connected on a one out double to right centerfield. Lamm would score on Mike Taylor's double to left centerfield.

Kansas took a 3-2 lead in the fifth inning on Casey Spanish's three-run home run down the leftfield line.

Kansas increased their lead to 5-2 with a run in the seventh and eighth innings.

Charlotte pitcher John Maine fell to 1-1 on the season with the loss.

Charlotte will host Penn State in a two game season-opening home series at Tom & Lib Phillips Field, Saturday, February 17 at 12:00 pm and Sunday, February 18 at 1 pm.
