At Eastern Wayne - Earned Best Pitcher Award. Named all-tournament at the Hot Stove Easter Tournament. Earned all-conference and all-area as a senior. As a senior, he had a 2.13 ERA with 63 strikeouts in 58.1 innings. Member of the 2002 Wayne County American Legion team, which finished as state runner-up with a 46-6 record. Member of a Babe Ruth team that won two state titles. Played in the Babe Ruth World Series.
