At Charlotte - 2003: Led the team with a 4.38 ERA. Tied his career-high with four wins. Posted wins over Gardner-Webb (2/9), Tulane (4/6), Memphis (4/27) and UAB (5/3). Pitched his first career nine-inning complete game against UAB. He scattered six hits and only allowed one unearned run against UAB. He recorded a career-high seven strikeouts in just seven innings against Tulane. Third on the team with a career-best 42 strikeouts. Collected his first career save against Winthrop (3/25)
2002: Made 18 appearances with four starts. Earned his first career win against Cleveland State (2/24). Pitched a career-high seven innings against Cleveland State and St. Joseph's (3/14). He collected his first career complete game against St. Joseph's. Recorded wins against Cleveland State, St. Joseph's and UNC Greensboro (3/19) and South Florida (4/28). Finished fifth on the team with 26 strikeouts. Had 10 appearances of two innings or more.
2001: Made 10 appearances with five starts. Longest outing was five innings at NC State (4/4/01). Made seven appearances against C-USA foes. Had 16 strikeouts in 17.2 innings. Had four appearances with at least three strikeouts.
At Auburn - Made two pitching appearances at Auburn before getting hurt. He pitched one inning against VCU and Davidson. Received a medical redshirt.
At Goodpasture - In the summer of 1999 member of the AAU World Series all-tournament team for the Middle Tennessee Stars. Went 12-2 with 115 strikeouts with three shutouts and one no-hitter. He also hit .423 with 35 RBI and eight home runs. Led Goodpasture High School to state titles as a sophomore and a senior. State tournament MVP and all-state selection as a senior. Posted a 9-3 record with 73 strikeouts, two shutouts and a 3.89 ERA in 71.1 innings as a senior. Hit .387 with a team leading 10 home runs and 42 RBI as a senior. Named to all-mid state region team and Pounder Classic MVP as a junior. Also played football in high school. Member of National Honor Society, TSSAA Academic Merit Award recipient.
