Sherry Named C-USA Men's Cross Country Performer of the Week

The 49ers senior won last weekend's Clemson Invitational with the team's fastest 8K time of the year.

CHICAGO - The Charlotte 49ers cross country team's Vince Sherry has been named Men's Performer of the Week by Conference USA. Sherry's selection was announced this afternoon by the league office.

Sherry, a senior from Victor, N.Y., captured individual medallist honors at the Clemson Invitational last weekend. His time of 24:58 was the fastest for the 49ers this season and ranks 18th in the school's record book. As a team, Charlotte finished second overall.

The 49ers return to action Oct. 19, when they compete at the NCAA Pre-National Meet in Terre Haute, Ind.
