Goetschius Named A-10 Performer of the Week

Philadelphia – Two days after leading her team to victory at the Bojangles Invitational, Amanda Goetschius has been named this week’s Atlantic 10 Cross Country Performer of the Week.
The A-10 honor for Goetschius was her first such award of her career following up on being named the A-10 Rookie of the Week twice last season.
Goetschius was victorious by 13 seconds over the rest of the 90 person field as she was the only runner to break the 19 minute threshold.
By being victorious, Goetschius propelled her 49er women’s squad to victory on Saturday as the Niner women protected the home course for the second consecutive year.
The Garden State native is coming off a stellar 2007 campaign which saw her named to the A-10 All-conference squad following her seventh place finish at last year’s conference championships in Philadelphia.
Goetschius and the rest of the 49ers are back in action this weekend when they travel to Florence, S.C. on Saturday to take part in the Winthrop Invitational.
