Philadelphia, Pa. - With the women's cross country season just around the corner, the Atlantic 10 has announced it's preseason poll and the 49ers were selected by the 14 conference coaches to be this year's runner-up.

Charlotte returns the entire 2007 squad which came home with a fourth place finish at last year's A-10 championships in Philadelphia.

Jackson was an All-Conference selection a season ago and was victorious in four events including the Inaugural Charlotte Invitational where the 49ers took home the top three spots.

Goetschius was the team's solid number two runner in 2007, but she peaked at the right time as she was the top Charlotte performer at last season's A-10 Championships in Philadelphia. During only her sixth collegiate race, the freshman cruised home to a seventh place finish with a time of 18:52 on the 5K course.

Thomas had a solid year as well with her top time coming at the Gamecock Invitational as she crossed the line in a time of 18:09.
