CHARLOTTE, NC - The Charlotte men's and women's cross country teams announced their respective 2003 schedules Thursday. Both men's and women's teams will begin the 2003 season in Charlotte when they play host to the Charlotte Relay, Aug 30th at McAlpine Park in Charlotte. The regular season schedule will conclude at the C-USA championships in Tampa, Florida.
The first test of the season for the men and women will come at the 2003 Great American Cross Country Festival in Raleigh, N.C. that meet will feature some of the top teams in the country. Last season the Forty Niners men won C-USA and placed ninth at the NCAA regional championships.
"Last year's teams had a great season under the guidance of first year distance coach Brad Herbster with the men winning the conference title. This year's schedule will provide our squads the level of competition they need in our efforts to remain highly competitive in the conference and experience some post season success" head track/cross country coach Robert Olesen said.

Sept. 5th - University of South Carolina / Columbia, SC;
Sept. 13th - Davidson Invitational / Davidson, NC;
Sept 26th - Great American / Raleigh, NC;
Oct 11th - Furman Invitational / Greenville, SC;
Oct 18th - ECU / NC Intercollegiates / Greenville, NC;
Nov 1st - C-USA / Tampa, FL.;
Nov 15th - NCAA Regional / ECU-Greenville, NC;
Nov 24th - NCAA Championships / Iowa;
Feb 7-8 - USATF Junior / Nationals - Indianapolis, IN;
