GREENVILLE, N.C. - The Charlotte 49ers closed out the 2003 cross country season Saturday, competing at the NCAA Southeast Regionals at East Carolina. The sent five competitors and placed 13th out of 26 teams. The men a pair of runners compete.

Cassie Ficken placed 44th to lead Charlotte's women. She posted a time of 21:30.3 for the 6,000-meter course. Tsehaye Dagnachew was next across with a 21:57.4 time to place 65th. Andria Craig was 88th with a time of 22:38.3. Liz Smith placed 116th with a time of 23:11.6, while Amelia Slagle was 136th with a time of 23:33.2.

For the men, Jamil Muhaimin finished the 10,000-meter course in 86th place with a 32:38.0 time. Andrew Manning was 119th with a time of 33:15.4.
