Women's Cross Country Third At Winthrop

ROCK HILL, S.C. - Jen Taylor and Laura Syracuse finished among the top 10 runners to lead the Charlotte 49ers women's cross country team to a third-place finish at the Winthrop Invitational Saturday.

The women posted a combined score of 97 to finish third as a team. UNC Asheville won the 5K race with a score of 52. Taylor was the top runner for Charlotte. Her time of 18:42.41 was good for third. Syracuse posted a 18:53.14 time, and placed sixth. Jenny Sniffen was the next runner to cross the line for the 49ers. Her time of 19:54.80 was good for 17th overall. Andria Craig was the team's fourth runner with a time of 20:45.95 to finish 33rd. Sarah Carter rounded out the Niner's team score. She was in 41st with a 21:26.90 time.

The women return to action next weekend, when they will be joined by the men at the Great American Cross Country Festival.
