COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Charlotte 49ers women's cross country competed in their second meet of the season Friday, placing fourth at the South Carolina Invitational. With many of the team's top runners not competing, Andria Craig stepped up to lead the 49ers with a sixth-place finish.
South Carolina won the meet with a score of 43 points. Charlotte's top five runners put together a score of 100.
Craig completed the 5,000-meter course with a time of 19:40. Marenika Wisdom was next to cross the line, posting a time of 20:02. Klara Jarolimova finished 24th with a 20:37 time. Claire Shepherd and Kristin Cook capped the team's scoring effort in 27th and 32nd. They had times of 20:58 and 21:21, respectively.
Both cross country teams return to action this Saturday, when they run at the Davidson Invitational.
