Irving, Texas - Charlotte senior Molly McDonald collected her second consecutive Setter of the Week award after leading the 49ers volleyball team to a perfect 3-0 record last week. The award was announced by the Conference USA office on Monday afternoon.

McDonald (Santa Cruz, Calif.) averaged 15.33 assists per game in a pair of weekend conference matches, both of which were three game sweeps for the 49ers. She totaled 127 assists (14.11 per game) in three Charlotte wins last week, as the team improved its record to 18-8 overall and 4-4 in C-USA with wins over Radford (non-conference), Southern Miss and Tulane.

McDonald added 1.89 digs per game for the week. She served up four service aces, including one that ended the match against Tulane. McDonald had four kills in six attempts (.675 hitting percentage) against Southern Miss.

McDonald has raised her season average to 12.36 assists per game, an improvement of more than two per game over her career numbers, and good enough to rank second among the league leaders. She is averaging 13.03 per game in Conference USA play. The 6-foot-tall setter is second on the team in blocks (52) and third in blocks per game (0.57) in 2004.

McDonald ranks fourth on Charlotte's career assists list, and needs just 117 assists to move into third all-time. She holds two of the 49ers' top ten all-time single-season assist totals.

McDonald's selections were the first two times that C-USA has ever honored a Charlotte setter. She averaged 14.00 assists per game in earning C-USA Setter of the Week honors for the week ending Oct. 18.
