CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte 49ers women's soccer and volleyball teams are in action this weekend, at home, versus conference opponents. On Friday evening, the women's soccer team will play host to Conference USA co-leader Cincinnati at 7:00 p.m. The 49ers have won three of their last four matches versus the Bearcats and look to improve on their conference record of 5-1-1.
On Saturday, the 49ers volleyball team hosts in-state rival East Carolina at 7:00 p.m. The 49ers are looking to win their fourth match in the last five and currently stand at 10-12 on the season. The 49ers are looking to avenge a 3-2 loss to the Pirates earlier in the season in Greenville, N.C.
Sunday afternoon will see the final match of the weekend, as the women's soccer team wraps up its 2001 home slate versus Louisville at 1:00 p.m. Prior to the match, the 49ers will recognize midfielder Dawn Geyer (Bellbrook, Ohio/Alter), as part of the annual Senior Day. Charlotte (7-5-3) looks to make a push for the top seed in the Conference USA Tournament November 7-10 in Milwaukee, Wis.
