Courtney Burg was named MVP of the SpringHill Suites Classic as the 49ers won their first tournament title since the Auburn War Eagle Classic last year. Burg led the Niners with 45 kills and 32 digs during the three-match tournament. She enjoyed her best match in the championship, when she had 18 kills and 15 digs against Xavier. Charlotte hosts North Carolina Sept. 24 before their final non-conference weekend matches at Virginia Commonwealth and William & Mary next weekend.

Other Nominees: Mira Mupier (Men's Soccer) scored two goals and two assists in Charlotte wins last week; Tiffany Ross (women's soccer) posted a pair of assists in two C-USA matches last weekend; Jennifer Hatch (women's tennis) reached the flight C finals at UNC Wilmington
