49ERS OFF TO BEST START IN FIVE YEARS
The 49ers showed no signs of rust following last week's cancelations due to events in New York and Washington, sweeping Charleston Southern, 3-0, in their first match back Tuesday, Sept. 18. The win upped their record to 6-2, matching the best start since for the team since the 1996 season. That team eventually improved to 8-2 before suffering their third loss.
WINTHROP RESCHEDULED FOR NOV. 7
In light of the tragedies in New York and Washington, Charlotte's match at Winthrop, originally scheduled for Sept. 11 was postponed. It has since been rescheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 7 in Rock Hill.
The team's tournament at Tennessee, where they were scheduled to take on Radford, SMU and Tennessee, was cancelled and will not be made up.
