She was a wonderful partner to have growing up in martial arts, I will never forget her smiling face, and what a wonderful sister she was to Brendan and Brianna and daughter to Mike and Ernie. My thoughts are prayers are with you always."- Julie Lin

"Christy and I came to Charlotte the same year together. I didn't know her well but I definitely appreciated and respected her athletic ability on the volleyball court. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family during this heart-wrenching time. " - Brandi Hicks
"Christy thank you so much for the beautiful friendship, I now know I was truly blessed to have had with you. The endless talks we had about keeping my head up truly impacted me and made my experience at Charlotte immensely better because of you. I think of the track meets you would come to just to let me know that I would always have someone in my corner when I was down. My family only met you once but thought you were an amazing and beautiful woman. I know you smile down on me... so know that I smile back remembering the good times and knowing that I will always love and remember you. I miss you so much! " - Danielle Taylor
"My thoughts and prayers are with the whole 49er family and with Christy's family. Sometimes things in life happen that we can not explain but God does not give us anything we can not handle. Through the help and support of our 49er family and friends we will all make it through this time.
I will always remember Christy as my teammate and my good friend. She was my host on my recruiting trip and we shared lots of fun times on and off the court. I will also never forget her "hops"...I always wished I could have jumped as high as her." - Megan Moseness
"It was an honor to know you as a friend and teammate. I looked up to you as an amazing person and volleyball player. I will always hold a special place in my heart for you. You will be missed." - Love, Jenna Lahmeyer Brannon
"This is a great loss for the 49er family. Even though I was just in my freshmen year at Charlotte, I remember Christy very well. I remember her for her leaping ability and the special glow that she carried. I would sit at the volleyball games and be so amazed at how she could get up so high and spike the ball. Off the court, she seemed so quiet ... She always seemed to have a shy and meek spirit. She seemed like a great person. I will always remember her. I will keep her family in my prayers." - Peaches Harris
"Christy was such a sweet, smart, funny person. She was such a joy to be around and play with. She will be missed. Our prayers are with her family." - Shannon Conroy Withers
"I don't know why this had to happen. There is no reason. Words can not express the sadness when I returned from vacation to read this story. I pray for her parents and family. That's all we can do." - Mark Colone '83
