May 2, 2007

Charlotte, N.C. - The Charlotte 49ers volleyball program was recognized by the NCAA for their latest Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores. The APP Honor Team Awards recognized teams whose three-year APR was in the top 10% in the country. The APR guages academic progress and is determined by assigning points for scholarshipped student-athletes' retention and eligibility per semester. A perfect team score is 1000.

The 49ers volleyball program, led at that time by head coach Lisa Marston, produced a three-year rate of 993, one point shy of a perfect score. The 49ers ratings included perfect scores of 1000 in 2003-04 and 2005-06.

Six 49ers programs had a perfect score of 1000 in 2005-06: men's basketball, women's basketball, golf, softball, women's tennis and volleyball. Two programs had a perfect score in 2004-05: men's tennis, women's tennis and two in 2003-04: men's tennis, volleyball.
