GREENSBORO, N.C. - Kathleen Ramos and Courtney Burg both reached double figures in kills as the volleyball team swept N.C. A&T, 3-0, Tuesday night at the Corbett Center. The win is the 49ers' third in the last four matches.
Ramos paced Charlotte (10-12) with her 10th double-double and third in four matches with 17 kills and 11 digs. Esra Akgun nearly had a double-double of her own with eight kills and 10 digs. Burg added 13 kills for the Niners. Amanda Padilla and Chiandra Washington each had six kills to lead N.C. A&T (18-11).
The 49ers had to work for the win in game one, pulling out a 30-24 decision. It was a little bit easier the second time around, cruising to a 30-19 win, as the Aggies hit -.132 in the second game. Charlotte put the match away with their bench in the third game, clinching the match with a 30-24 victory.
The Niners' next match is this Saturday, when they host East Carolina at 7:00 in Halton Arena. Admission is $3 for adults. Charlotte students and youth 17-and-under will be admitted gratis.
