Box Score

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Louisville picked up their fifth-straight win Friday night, defeating the Charlotte 49ers volleyball team, 3-0, at Cardinal Arena. The 49ers' loss snaps the team's two-game conference win streak.

Bing Sun had 14 kills, two aces and eight blocks to lead Louisville (15-3, 4-0 C-USA). Courtney Burg led Charlotte (12-10, 3-2 C-USA) with nine kills. Laura Darnell also had nine digs for the Niners' cause.

The Cardinals wasted little time taking a 2-0 lead in the match, taking the first two games, 30-20 and 30-13. After the long break prior to game three, Charlotte seemed energized. Trailing 12-10 after a pair of Louisville hitting errors, the Niners seemed poised to gain momentum, however a 12-4 Cardinal run shut down the rally and gave Louisville a 30-17 win to clinch the match.

Charlotte returns to action Sunday, when they play at Cincinnati.
