Chicago, Ill. - The Charlotte 49ers volleyball team was defeated by DePaul, 3-0, in a Conference USA match, Saturday night. The loss drops the 49ers to 6-16; 0-4 in C-USA.

DePaul (9-11; 2-2) picked up its second straight C-USA win by beating the 49ers 30-14, 30-25 and 30-16.

Charlotte was led by sophomore Lisa Newell, who had 13 kills and topped the team with 15.5 points. Jessica Kelly added 10.5 points for the 49ers with a team-high five block assists to go with her seven kills.

Charlotte hit -.008 for the match.

Janet Cotter led the Blue Demons with 14 kills and 12 digs while Lara Marks had nine kills and 10 block assists.
