Charlotte, N.C. - The Charlotte 49ers used double-doubles from their senior pair of Cori Dayton and Alma Arroyo and 34 assists from fellow senior Eden Ramos to earn their first Atlantic 10 Conference victory of the season 3-0 (30-27, 30-21, 30-22) over the visiting La Salle Explorers on Friday night in Halton Arena. Charlotte snaps a five-match losing skid and improves to 9-7 overall, 1-2 in A-10 play. La Salle drops to 8-11 and 0-1 in league play.
The two teams took some time to feel one another out in game one. The back-and-forth opening frame never saw a lead of more than three points, with Charlotte finding its way to the win in the end.
