Box Score

Greensboro, NC - Charlotte volleyball outlasted North Carolina A&T to come away with a five game victory on Friday night at the Corbett Sports Center. Full details of the match were not available.

"It was a rough match. We came out really, really slow, very nonchalant," said head coach Lisa Marston, whose team improved to 11-4 with the victory. "They're a very, very athletic and emotional team, really aggressive and came right at us. Each game was a big-time struggle.

"In the fifth game, we got really aggressive finally, especially the last five points," Marston continued. "I definitely think that A&T outperformed us tonight, and I have to hand it to their team. We just happened to come out with the win, and we made the right plays at the end of the match. We couldn't set Lisa Newell enough, because of her ball control. She had a really great match, and so did Abbey (Szlanfucht)."

The 49ers return home to Halton Arena on Sunday, when they square off against the Tribe of William & Mary in a 2 pm match. Admission for adults is $5, while youth (17 & under) and Charlotte 49er students with valid ID are admitted free of charge.
