ATHENS, Ga. - After pulling out a win in the first game, Georgia used the momentum to win games two and three as Charlotte's volleyball team fell to Georgia, 3-0, Saturday afternoon at the Georgia Invitational in Athens.
A kill from the 49ers' Christy Galvin tied the first game, 8-8, but the Bulldogs used back-to-back blocks to break the tie and win, 15-10. From there, they went on to win the second game, 15-6, and the third game, 15-7, to clinch the match. Esra Akgun led Charlotte with 11 kills. Georgia finished the match with 10 blocks as a team, one solo and 18 assists.
The 49ers close out the weekend against Furman at 4:00. The Paladins lost to Saint Louis, 3-0, in the morning match.
