Kim Harper was added to the coaching staff in the fall of 2007. A December graduate of Saint Andrews Presbyterian College in nearby Laurinburg, NC, Harper starts her collegiate coaching career this fall with Charlotte.
Harper played four years at Division II SAPC, playing in a school-record 469 straight games as the team's setter (in the top ten in Division II history.) She was the team captain from 2004-2006, winning the team MVP award in 2005. Harper was a Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference Honorable Mention player three times.
While at Saint Andrews, Harper also managed to assist in the coaching of the Anson (County) High School Bearcats squad, from 2003-2005. She has also coached the Jump Start Volleyball Club 18s and has been a coach of the Capital City Volleyball Club.
Her Olympic Heights High School team (Boca Raton, Fla.) was a state champion and was nationally ranked during her playing days. She also participated in the USA Nationals and Junior Olympics teams twice during her high school years.
She has two brothers, one of whom played college football at Florida Atlantic University.
Harper lists reading and movies as two of her favorite hobbies and she listens to a mix of country and alternative rock music.
